2009 Subaru Forester is Coming

We expect to see it in the flesh in February or March, though it will be officially introduced by Subaru on December 25. The car will be based upon the same platform as the new 2008 Impreza. That car is far more refined than the car it replaced and its sales have been strong. We look forward to this new Forester. I expect it to be a strong seller and the best small SUV in its class!

Jooooody!

Still selling Subaru's?? The Forester you have here is much more 'refined' than previous models. Hopefully Subaru will market this SUV as more gas-mileage friendly than other SUV's on the market. I'm going to be looking into purchasing a new car in the summer of 2009 (the loan on my green 2004 Chevy Aveo will be paid off in July 2009), and I'd like to get something like a station wagon (remember my '77 Impala wagon a few years back? I'd hate to feed that thing gas today!). I didn't even consider the Forester. I'm looking into the Chevy Malibu, Kia Rondo, Honda Fit, or a Chevy HHR. A four cylinder car is very preferable as I drive about 60 miles round-trip every day to work (mostly on US41, a highway). My preference is the Malibu Maxx (a station wagon), but Chevy is redesigning its lineup for the Malibu this year, and they are no longer offering the Maxx in 2008. I wish I could get the new Impala in 2009 (rear-wheel drive, baby!). Send me an e-mail about the stats on the Forester (gas mileage, engine, MSRP, etc...)

Bye for now!

Hi Mister Larry,

Yep, I'm still selling Subarus. In fact, sometime in February I am supposed to go to West Palm Beach Florida for a Subaru "Ride and Drive" to get training on the new product. I'm not sure of the dates yet. A Forester currently starts at about $22,500, so it may be a little more expensive than the cars you are considering. Also, while All-Wheel-Drive is a great feature, it may not be the necessity in Fl that it can sometimes be here in PA. We do have a smaller wagon, the Impreza, which should be competitively priced with the vehicles you are considering. Well, it's good to hear from you and thanks for visiting my 'blog.
